  1. I struggled with weight my entire life. However, now, I'm actually starting to make progress losing some of it now that I'm 35. It took me long enough. I eat smaller meals and have cut my carb intake drastically. Honestly, the most important thing I have done is to eat clean. I do not eat things with preservatives if I can avoid it. This means I don't eat fast food. I do not consume soda (even if it is diet). I concentrate on lean protein, organic milk, and organic veggies. It has gotten to the point where if I actually stray off my diet that it makes my body feel horrible. Try eating clean for a few weeks. I noticed the difference not just in my weight, but my complexion, mood, and energy levels, too.
  2. We do vegetarian meals at least once a week here at home, but I could never give up meat entirely. I love it too much. Especially as someone that cooks and considers it a hobby, I would get tired of only cooking meatless meals all the time. With that being said, I have tried to eat healthier and I have cooked for some of my vegan friends before. Some of the recipes I have tried are quite good, just not something I could tolerate every day for the rest of my life. Who wants to be without steak, bacon, lamb, chicken, eggs, or milk? Not this girl!
  3. As for newer movies, I just saw "Daddy's Home" with Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell. I normally am not a Will Ferrell fan, but this movie actually made me laugh out loud (which is something a comedy rarely makes me do). Some of the physical comedy scenes were really well done and Walhberg and Ferrell play the competitive roles well against each other. I would definitely recommend it to someone that likes comedies.
  4. Hi David and the rest of the gang! My name is Lisa. I am from the States, more specifically Ohio, but have lived all over America. I love to travel, watch TV and movies, read, go to concerts, and cook. I love meeting new people and I love the wide variety of topics that this board provides! Great venue!
  5. Does anyone watch the hit Showtime Series "Ray Donovan?" It just started it's 4th season and it is getting really good. Although, I'm seriously doubting the main character, Ray's, road to being a better guy. It's kind of hard in his profession, wouldn't you say? I love that they really do the South Boston backstories and characters with a lot of true ethnic character. If you know any South Boston Irishmen in real life, you'd know what I mean! Leiv Shreiber is outstanding in this series. What a great actor and such a stage presence! Any predictions for the series?
  6. Well, the season finale of GOT was just last week. What did everyone think of the season? I thought there were many exciting moments and good plot turns. Plus, the "Hold the Door" episode was sincerely epic. I love when shows explain something like that through back story, even though we virtually knew nothing about that character's background beforehand. I'm a little upset at Margery's departure and am thinking that Daenerys' road to rule seems to be going too well for their not to be a huge snag somewhere early next season. I wonder how she'll face up to Cersei? Personally, I think that there aren't enough episodes in their seasons to satisfy me!
  7. Was anyone familiar with this PC game that came out in the very early 90's called "Simon the Sorcerer?" I used to love the game. It's really great if anyone can find an old copy of it. Simon was genuinely funny with the dialogue they gave him in the game. I really enjoyed it and remember at the time it was fairly challenging for me (although I was like 13 then). If anyone ever played it, let me know what you thought. Here's the wikipedia entry on the game: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_the_Sorcerer
