Do you like to discuss about politics?

12 posts in this topic

I don't have much patience to discuss politics (not because I do not know, but because generally people are very radical in their views and it pisses me off >:().

I just like to discuss politics if I find someone with good point of views on the subject. B|

Yes, I like to talk about politics. I not only enjoy political discussions, but also have read books on political science. I have read communism, as well as capitalism and democracy. In fact for couple of years, I wrote political commentaries for a newspaper based in my home country.

I don't like to discuss politics because like religion, it is a very divisive subject. That is not to say, though, that I'm not interested in it. It's just that people have different opinions and some take it too seriously. The recent election in my country, for instance, had actually been a cause for some people to ban 'friends' from their Facebook account just because they feel strongly about their candidate. For this reason, I only talk about politics with people who I know shares the same opinion as I am or with people that I know are broadminded enough.

I do like discussing politics. Actually I like discussing anything. As long as there is something that I can learn out of the discussion. I do not know much about politics but I do read. And if ever someone wants to talk to me about it, like someone wants to explain what and how a communist country is being run or a democratic country or whatever, I'll sit down and listen very well. I might learn a lot from that discussion.

For me, talking politics is not only a waste of time but a trap that could cause a rift with your relationship to people - relatives, friends, colleagues, acquaintances. Politics is always two-sided and in case you get over to the other side then it is trouble already with the potential clash of opinions. I would rather talk of the weather or the movies than engage someone in the topic of politics especially when there is a volatile issue like what is going on in the Philippines with the campaign against illegal drugs that results in the so called extra judicial killings.

I like discussing about politics even if tension could be high at times during such discussions. Why I chose to like political talks is because I want a good and responsible system to be in place. This is a crucial matter to me since it centers on how people are being managed in a state. I feel if the people keep quiet then they shouldn't complain if the system goes contrary to their wishes.

I think that having a conversation about politics can be quite boring. Besides I always like to avoid anything that can lead to arguments for all the disagreements this can produce. I understand that everyone have different view points in things but I rather have a conversation in which we both can like.

It depends on the minds that are involved, if matured people discuss politics they will better handle their lines of disagreement. Such won't degenerate to a scuffle. I strongly think politics should be talked about to ensure good governance.

I do quite enjoy talking about politics but a lot depends on the people that your actually talking to. People can have some extreme views and while that's fine of course because everybody as a right to have their own opinion, at the same time they have to be willing to listen to yours at the same time.

What I've found even more so lately is that people are losing the skill of debating, stating their point and then taking on board the opinion of others and now it seems like every discussion just turns into an heated argument, and that gets nobody anywhere. They do say that you should avoid the topics of religion and politics if you want to remain civil with others and sometimes it IS best to avoid the subject completely if you feel they are too stubborn to listen as well as talk.

I am interested in politics, not just national politics in my country, but also international politics. I care about which party is in the power in the UK or the US. I care about who will win the presidential race in the US. I did not study political science, but as a son of a journalist, I grew up readin and talking politics.

I do like to be aware of politics and actually know about what's going on in my country but I don't really care about it too much, I pretty much hate the field because I think it's filled to the brim with corrupt people that only care for themselves and it's pretty boring.

Nope even I don't like to talk on this topic. Different people have different thoughts regarding this topic, and honestly it is not my interest related thing. So if things are not my interest related then I don't feel talking more on it. So I don't think I can talk more on this topic.
