Have you ever snored so loud that you woke yourself up?

17 posts in this topic

Even if you weren't the one doing the snoring, maybe you've seen someone else do this. It's funny to see how startled they are when they realize that the loud noise that just woke them up was their own snoring. Do you ever do this? Do you know anyone who does (or had done it)? Did you find it funny?

While this is humorous, keep in my that chronic snoring can be a health issue. The occasional "sawing logs" when you have a cold or something can be pretty funny though.

Oh my goodness, yes. I have done this. In fact I'm ashamed to admit, I have done it more than once.

It is so embarrassing when you wake yourself up snoring and someone witnesses it!

No! Thanks God I don't snore (but I live with people who snores and I know how much it's boring... in fact, really... really boring, sometimes I have wanted to put a sock in their mouths, haha!)

Ha ha, your wife is probably not nearly as amused.

You might try sleeping in a different position. I have also heard about some elastic nose strips that go over the bridge of your nose. They are supposed to help open up sinus passages and decrease snoring. I don't know how well they work, but they are cheap, so they might be worth a try.

I have a friend who uses those strips. They go across the bride of your news.

They look a bit funny but apparently they do work.

I sometimes snore espeially when I lie facing the ceiling but I do not think I have had to wake myself from my own snore. Lieing sideways is one best way to overcome the problem of snoring

I don't snore, however, my husband does. It has been almost three years we got married and now I can sleep even though he snores loudly.

I don't snore not even my husband but I have seen my parents do so. This usually happens to my dad almost all the time. My mom on the other hand snores but almost never gets awaken by it.

So, you have another thing to make fun of him for, right? Like looking like a dork with that strip across his nose. :P

I'd buy him some just so I could point and laugh. Of course, my friends know I'm just playing.

No, this hasn't happened to me. However, I snore and they say I have woken them. I also have experience of waking up in the middle of night because of loud snoring of a person next to me. In have heard about nasal strip but have not tried yet.

I do snoring occasionally and that also when I am very tried. But I don't think I have heard my snoring by my self. I came to know about it from others. But yes I got wakeup many times by voice of snoring from others. I know few people who have snoring problem badly and their do it very loudly that nobody can sleep around them, but like you mentioned they also never got wakeup by their snoring.

No. I don't actually snore. Well not that I know of haha :D But no, I never woke up because of my own snore. But my hubby do snores really loud that I need to wake him up to stop him from snoring since I can't sleep. Or sometimes he wakes up himself because of his loud snore LOL :D

I think that I am a pretty lucky person because I have never been told that I snore.  For some weird reason I still kind of think that I do, somewhere in the sleep cycle, but there are no reports yet.  The wife also is snore free as far an I know, which makes for a nice and quiet rest.

I don't normally snore but if I do it isn't that loud but yeah, sometimes I wake up because I can feel and hear myself snoring. This happens to me when I ride very sleepy in public transport.

I don't snore overall but sometimes if I'm extremely tired, my mouth opens while I sleep. This usually leads to me having a very dry throat because of all the excess air that entered while I was breathing in through my mouth. Otherwise, I've never seen someone snore so loud to wake themselves up though they have snored loud enough to wake me up.
